Calf Tail

Calf Tail, with its slight wave or crinkle, is a key material for many traditional flies such as the Royal Wulff and bomber patterns. Great for use as wings, posts and tails in dry flies, Calf Tail can be stacked for use on smaller hairwing streamers in place of bucktail. Hairs left uneven provide a more natural appearance.

Because the Belly Hair is larger in diameter and hollow, it is ideal for any spinning application.

Elk Body Hair

Like deer but more durable, Elk Body Hair is a staple in fly tying. The coarse, thick hair is great for spinning clipped hair heads on flies such as sculpins, irresistibles and muddler minnows while patterns such as the elk hair caddis, xcaddis and stimulators would be lost without it. Elk Body Hair can be used in place of deer in various recipes and patterns.

Rabbit Strips

Rabbit fur on the hide is one of the best materials to use on streamers and sub-surface flies due to its exceptional life-like movement in the water. Rabbit Super Strips are cut in 3/8" widths for larger flies. Zonker Strips are 1/4" wide. Cross Cut Rabbit Strips are 1/4" wide and are cut perpendicular to the grain of the hair, making them great for creating palmered rabbit bodies. Zonkers, flesh flies, double bunnies and sculpins are just a few patterns that incorporate the use of rabbit.
