Yellowstone National Park has implemented a fishing program using non-toxic tackle. Yellowstone has twelve native species including three sport fish: three cutthroat trout, Arctic grayling, and mountain white fish. Yellowstone also has five non-native species and one hybrid: brook, brown, lake, rainbow trout, lake chub, and cutthroat/rainbow trout hybrid. Native cutthroat trout are the most ecologically important fish of the park and the most prized, and highly regarded by visiting anglers.
